Take a closer look

Hidden in this view is a profile view of the very enjoyable West Ridge of Matterhorn Peak. From Burro Pass wander up to the ridge and stay with it on the crest all the way to the summit. Great class 4 moves and wicked solid rock. Most folks head right to the sandy gully whose only merit is that it makes a great descent on this side of the mountain. Try the ridge, it's worth the long walk around to this side. Camp at the Finger Lakes just below the pass.
