Mauna Loa Panorama

This was taken from the Mauna Kea access road at about 12,000 feet, late in the afternoon. To the left would be Hilo under all those clouds, while to the right is looking toward Kona. For scale the photo covers about 80 miles left to right. Mauna Loa is simply the most gigantic mountain I have ever seen - so consistent in its profile that it plays tricks on the mind. July 06
