We were trying to find Warbonnet, which has a distinctive profile. As we did a somewhat scary ropeless ascent, we thought this spire looked a little weird, but must be the perspective? We discovered that Warbonnet is plainly visible (and identifiable) from the summit of Mayan Temple.
What an adventure- up the heinous Goat Creek drainage (no trail) and up onto the Mayan Temple. A tough Class 4 move almost stopped me- jump from a ledge into a chimney, then slight overhang move on loose blocks. Summit was spectacular- 2 rappels to get off and back via the trail. 23+ mile day, but I saw parts of the Sawtooths I've been wanting to see.
"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."
