One slip on the rocks as we descended the NW Pinnacle Butte in Wyoming...
Instinct made me put out my hand, preventing what might have been a bad injury, but did that little gash ever bleed... Comments[ Post a Comment ] | musicman82 | I wish... | |
Voted 10/10 | ...that I had taken some pictures of all of the places in the snow where you stuck your hand and filled them with blood! :) | | Posted Jul 9, 2009 1:42 am |

Hasn't voted | You'd probably have filled up your memory card. It's a good thing we were going fast; the scent of all that blood might have drawn a griz! | | Posted Jul 9, 2009 10:27 am |

Voted 10/10 | Wow, that looks nasty! Did you cut yourself on the axe? | | Posted Jul 9, 2009 10:40 am |

Hasn't voted | I guess it looks that way, but it actually happened when I fell on some rocks and braced myself with my hand. We had just descended a long snow slope, and I guess my boots were a little slick and I wasn't being careful enough. My camera also took a good whacking (it was in the pocket on the side against which I fell), but it survived despite the bangs and dents. Tough camera! | | Posted Jul 9, 2009 7:08 pm |

Hasn't voted | Hands and Head both bleed heartily when gashed. Make for great stories as long as no serious damage is done. | | Posted Jul 9, 2009 11:15 am |

Hasn't voted | I never liked the original color. But I'm a bit sloppy with the brush, huh? | | Posted Jul 9, 2009 7:09 pm |

Voted 10/10 | You ought to be more careful. Congrats on surviving. | | Posted Jul 9, 2009 10:52 pm |

Hasn't voted | Not really a bad fall, just an ugly outcome. The frame in my pack probably saved me from a hell of a back injury, though. | | Posted Jul 10, 2009 8:05 am |

Voted 10/10 | I know your pain. I did the same thing while hiking down Pyramid Peak a couple of weeks ago. But with less blood. | | Posted Jul 10, 2009 7:16 pm |

Hasn't voted | No, but that little fall could have turned the day into one if I'd been a little less lucky! | | Posted Jul 10, 2009 4:06 pm |

Hasn't voted | Well, I got a bit of a sunburn, too, but not that bad. It probably wouldn't pass muster with certain people... | | Posted Jul 12, 2009 9:56 am |

Voted 10/10 | Another great war story. Don't wash off your ice ax. Keep it as a sign of "manliness" for years to come. Great photo. | | Posted Jul 12, 2009 10:15 am |

Hasn't voted | What I'm thinking of doing is sending a copy of this picture to each lady in the "Hottest Chick Alive" thread; I figure it's bound to impress at least one of them and score me some points. My wife doesn't approve, of course... | | Posted Jul 12, 2009 8:58 pm |
