Memo stone from ... | [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
A piece of melaphyre (trachybasalt) with an amethyst geode (blue) found on a yellow trail between Marainskohorske Boudy and the Sous Lake in Jizerske Hory, Czech Republic; August 6, 2008. Roads in these mountains are made mainly of basalt and melaphyre stones and, therefore, many interesting specimens, especially of melaphyre, can be there collected. Yes, this small geode (0.5x1cm) was very distinct on a road. Mineralogy of melaphyre is very exciting :-)
Thanks!!!
