| First time aid climbing! Made etriers out of webbing and worked hard for that first clip! Fun experience! Make sure you find the stick under the belay area to help stick clip it! We could open the summit register!!?>!@!!!! I wanted to see all of the surprises but just couldn't pry twist the cap off! | |

| great bolt ladder hanging over the air while climbing over the lip of mexican hat. the thrilling position makes this short climb a desert classic, something everyone needs to experience. a great day in a unique setting! jamie | |

| Mexican Hat is an amazing formation and the idea of reaching its summit seems absurd... but it can be done. We bought a pair of etriers, read up on the basics of aid climbing, and gave it a whirl. A broomstick with a quickdraw taped to it worked well to clip the first bolt. Aiding up and over the extreme overhang was strenuous but that may just be because we have no technique! My husband had a swig of the Jim Beam on top; there's plenty left. The views here are outstanding. | |

| Fun little bolt ladder, great view from the summit. No whiskey on top, no Easy Rider mag. Maybe a little bit of disappointment. | |

| Shirley & I climbed the Bandito route. Most bolts are new now. Was hoping to see all the "neat" stuff in the below-mentioned summit register but - hold on to your pants!!! - register was gone!! | |

| Scrambled up to the base of the Bandito Route, but we didn't have a cheater stick and were just not movatied enough to do the whole shoulder stand thing. Great views from under the hat. | |
