Heather and I parked below Windy Gap at 7am and then hiked up Baden-Powell, Burnham, Throop, Hawkins, Middle Hawkins, and Islip. We got back to the car at 2pm and then drove around hiking up Akawie, Winston, and Lewis. The next day we did both summits of Twin Peaks as well as Waterman.

Started at Windy Gap in picture perfect weather. Saw 4 bighorn sheep just west of Windy Gap and hiked under a 'murder' of crows on the north side of the summit. Cut my plans short of continuing over to Mt. Hawkins and Copter Ridge when I completely overshot Middle Hawkins and landed at the PCT junction. Not much of an excuse, but I lost my nerve. Went and tackled Kratka Ridge instead.

fun getting there along windy gap, but not my favorite summit of all time. kind of anticlimactic summit actually...but w.g. is a cool place and worth a hike.

I had plenty of daylight to tag something off the main drag. I enjoyed Middle Hawkins more than the other 3 - Throop, Hawkins and Islip. Pretty sad to see thousands of burnt trees.

Parked at Islip Saddle and hiked to Dawson Saddle. First, went up the 1/2 mile ridge to Mt. Lewis. Then crossed the highway and picked up the ridge trail to Throop Peak. Next was Mt. Hawkins. From there, we dropped down Hawkins' ridge 1300' to Copter Ridge and summited the peak located at 7,499' elevation. Then traversed (not recommended; way too steep) to a saddle just north of Middle Hawkins and summited that peak. Started back on the trail toward Islip Saddle and summited Islip Peak along the way. The day was a little warm but the views were great on all the peaks.
