Almost took a ride down to Chamonix
Returned just before the Rognon, I would strongly advise against going on the route in unstable/powder snow conditions. During the traverse my partner slid down toward Chamonix twice, once he was able to arrest himself, the other time he was arrested on a rock horn belay.

Great route but it took us much longer than planned (13h roundtrip) due to a combination of poor routefinding, bad snow conditions, poor acclimatisation and, well, just being slow.

Traversed both ways.
Traverse to Aguille du Plan was crowed causing people to bottle up at the Rognon du Plan abseils. Fun to meet Leendert there. Climbed back to Aguille du Midi since our bivi was on the glacier over there. Climbing the dihedrals (through which you abseil on the way to Aig. du Plan) was quite nice.

Complete traverse
Traversed the midi-plan arete with a lot of people. Luckily the descent to the requin hut was still in good condition. The beautiful descent to the Requin hut was not crowded.

Did the traverse to the base of the second Gendarme after the col. Snow conditions and generally poor weather sent us back to the Cosmiques Hut.
