Milky Way over Sundog | [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ] | |
This is a stitched panorama of 7 vertical images each taken at ISO 800; f2.8 for 30 seconds. The moon had just set (you can see it's light in the right part of the frame) and it is still lighting up the mountains on the left. The mountain being arched by the Milky Way is called "Sundog" - elevation 13,432 ft. and behind it (and not visible) is one of Colorado's 14ers, Sunshine Peak. I took the shots at approximately 1:30 AM after driving here from my house in Colorado Springs. I woke up the next morning at 5:45 and climbed two 13ers nearby. What an amazing day. | Image Type(s): Hiking |
