| Did a night hike under the full moon to the summit. Stayed for an hour and watched the sunrise. Alpenglow on the 3 Apostles was AMAZING! Would love to come back and do this again in Winter. | ||

| Climbed Belford --> Oxford --> Harvard --> Emerald --> Iowa --> Missouri. Moderate intensity. Summited Oxford at 6:20 AM Saturday morning and finished with Missouri summited via South Ridge II from Iowa at 8:15AM Sunday morning. Back at the Missouri TH at 11 AM. Missouri, as always, is a beautiful peak :-) | ||

| Planned on doing this via the north face couloirs, but hiking partner was not feeling it and had to turn back. Ended up doing the normal route solo. Planned on hitting Iowa too, but the clouds were building fast so had to settle for just 1 on this day. | ||

| Double-header with Huron, though both by standard routes. Still too much posthole-inducing slush on the trail, so I took the fat rib to its left. Maybe class 3 w/ some steep-ish snow. Trip report | ||

| 8/15/04 - Standard route up from Missouri Gulch in my cottoneering days. 1/30/10 - Winter ascent via the West Ridge. Road closure was 3 miles from Vicksburg making it an 8.5 mile approach to base camp below Clohesy Lake. The 3 miles from Rockdale to camp were untracked and required very difficult trailbreaking... all done by me in the span of 5-6 hours! Summit day was long and tiring, the west ridge seems endless. The final bit of ridge to the summit was very exciting (stayed on ridge crest)! Continued on to Iowa and Emerald before making an epic return to camp, again breaking through deep powder. | ||

| shknbke | West ridge winter ascent ![]() Date Climbed: Jan 30, 2010 | |
| Missouri in winter was a whole lot tougher than I anticipated. We climbed the west ridge from our camp below the summer Cloyses Lake trailhead. The west ridge is LONG and we had to stay above the summer crux on the n.w. ridge along the exposed ridge crest. It's a whole different ballgame up there in winter, but the weather was awesome! Continued over to Iowa and Emerald, then suffered through some epic postholing back to camp. Thank God for strong partners! | ||
