The pride of polish Tatras, the Mnich (2067 m) is towering above the lake Morskie oko (1395 m), which is the largest lake in High Tatras. It is 50,8 m deep and its surface area is of 0,3493 km2. The date of the photo: 30th june 2007.

The Monk

looks amazing! This is what fasinates me about the High Tatra. It looks like the same scenery you will find in the heart of the High Sierra of California.

Nature is wonderful anywhere .. in the mountains :) Yes, these two are old granite ranges, formed by glaciers, consequentially similarities will occur. Cheers Tomas :)
