Montaz from the NW

On the neighbouring Kanin there's almost 7 meters of snow and also Montaž is all in white. We are looking on its most beautiful side - the upper 1500 meters of walls above Dogna/Dunja valley. This view was often compared with the view on Matterhorn, yet over here only a few people climb. Above the massive walls Grande Cengia, the Big Band is seen and then the main summit and left of it Torre Nord / Nordturm. Dimensions of this face are enormous. From Grande Cengia on top there's still more than 300 meters of rocks. December 21st, 2008.

No, Borut, I'm still looking for the best picture from this side. I was a few times above Dogna/Dunja valley, but rarely in best conditions and on the best spot to observe Montaž. I'll come again and again...
