Have done various scrambing and some face climbing there (be advised the rock is decomposing sandstone) but have used a few palces there to practice/teach rappelling for over 35 years. It's hot in the summer but if you're in the area it's an interesting place to explore. There are a few places where you can see some offset minor faulting (many geology classes stop there to look at the structural geology here as Mormon rocks are just a couple of miles north of the San Andreas fault (the fault runs through Lone Pine canyon and "under" the town of Wrightwood).
We've been there a few times to attempt to make some routes. It's fun to mosey around the area but really not climbable rock. real flakey and crumbles in your hands. Cool place to at least go once though
