Mossbrae Falls

Mossbrae Falls, located near Dunsmuir, is fed not by a creek but from springs surging directly from the cliffs. The spring water falls into the Upper Sacramento River. Access to the falls is a route along a railroad track.

I was standing on a rock about six or seven feet out in the river. I am not sure if you can get on it when the river level is higher.

The Waterfall was..

.. cold to sit under. We had a great time swimming down under the falls in the summer. Great photo, brings back good memories of great times. Cheers.

Mossbrae Falls

There is no legal access to these falls. Railroad has a cop who will ticket you by getting there on tracks. Otherwise St. Germain Foundation owns land north and south of Falls which is posted absolutely no trespassing. At this point negotiations have broke down for City of Dunsmuir and St. Germain regarding a trail. So we will have to wait and see. You can always tube it from Cantara Loop on Sacramento River to the Falls in summer if you have to see these Falls.
