Most of the route to the summit of Mount Powell journeys through the terrain seen here. The trip starts and ends at Piney Lake, seen almost 5 miles down the Piney River valley. This photo was taken from the saddle known as Knee Knocker Pass in the Eagles Nest Wilderness.
