Great hike, long day, but well worth it. Went in on the Great Gulf trail to Madison Gulf, up to Madison Hut, over to Adams on Airline, back down to Madison Hut, over the Osgood Trail to Madison, down Osgood to the Great Gulf trail and back out.

This was one I should have done sooner! It is actually more of an elevation change than Mt. Washington. I found it tough especially above tree line, it gets the brute force of the wind when it is blowing.

Route Climbed: Gulfside to Lowe's Path - Return via Israel Ridge Date Climbed: August 11, 2002  Sucess!

Great day for climbing in the Presidentials! So hot I came home with major sunburn! 68 degrees on Washington. I did a loop of Jefferson & Adams. Went up Lowe's Path which is only 0.3 mi from the Gulfside Trailhead at Thunderstorm Junction. Just a lot of rock hopping to the top. Views were unreal! 2nd only to Washington for best overall view in all the Presies. Wish I could've spent more than 5 minutes at the summit, however the black flies were in full force: annoying & biting! Hope to do this again next year taking either Airline or King Ravine.

Route Climbed: Air Line trail, durand ridge Date Climbed: december 2000  Sucess!

decided to do a winter hike just before New Years day...was perfect weather, warm and sunny all the way and almost no wind. Took photos on the top shirtless. The rime-covered rocks do require crampons and damage the points quite a bit, but other than that no technical problems - its a walk up.

Mount Adams is always a good time. The presidential traverse is a "must do" for any serious New England hiker.
