Aeneas  Sucess!

Busy trailhead but beautiful hike. We accidentally took the electric maintenance trail straight up the side of the mountain. Wouldn't recommend, but would recommend the Picnic Lakes Loop route.

Re: Lots of goats!

Kyle, you might have been the person my wife and I had a brief chat with on the summit? You pointed out the all lady bugs on the foliage?

Spectacular views  Sucess!

Truly stunning views to GNP and down to Flathead Valley. Seeing a herd of mountain goats up close made it that much better

Good to be back  Sucess!

This mountain is a family favorite, but haven't been up in a while so it was good to be back. Unusually calm at summit, made it great for busting out the gnp map and identifying peaks.

Fun climb on warm day  Sucess!

Some huge cornices to be careful of but otherwise the snow seemed pretty safe, was very warm out, over 75 in the valley. Still around 5 feet of snowpack in east and north facing slopes, some south and west facing slopes are bare up to 6000 feet.

Aeneas  Sucess!

Started from Camp Misery and hiked the trail following the northwest ridge. It was smoky due to all of the wildfires in the area.

With Rebecca Lahr via Trail 717. Absolutely no views on top due to cloud cover. Continued on the trail down towards Picnic Lakes before looping out to the trailhead.

Was in the area doing some snow/glacier travel training and decided to bag the peak. Great day to be out. Pass lots and lots of people on their way up to the top.

Hucklberries!  Sucess!

Another foggy, windy, chilly day but it was still a great hike. The trail was loaded with huckleberries for an added bonus. The summit gave us a view into the east valley and that's a beautiful area to backpack and fish.
