| utclimber | 3 peaks ![]() Date Climbed: Aug 11, 2012 | |
| First climbed up Hayden, then traversed the ridge to East Hayden. Descended into the basin and across to Agassiz before returning to the car. RT was a little more than 8 hours. | ||

| Pfeiffer75 | Hayden Peak Loop ![]() Date Climbed: Aug 4, 2012 | |
| Climbed from Hayden Pass along the ridge and up the west face of Aggasiz. Some really fun scrambling on this route variation. Went down the east face of Aggasiz to Blue Lake. At Blue Lake, we took the Blue Lake Trail to the Highline Trail back to the parking area. A beautiful day | ||

| Absolutely gorgeous area! The weather was perfect and the scenery outstanding. Very accessible too. I climbed via the West face and descended the South ridge back to the highline trail. | ||

| The ridgeline connecting these two peaks is worth the hike all on its own! | ||

| ZeeJay | Nice hike ![]() Date Climbed: Aug 18, 2007 | |
| One of the easiest 12000 footers around. Took Highline Trail and then south ridge. | ||

| Joseph Bullough | First time up ![]() Date Climbed: Sep 3, 2010 | |
| A long traverse from Spread Eagle Peak. Descended the south ridge, then made a cross country traverse back to Scudder Lake and the Highline Trail. Didn't see anyone until near Scudder Lake. | ||

| ericwillhite | Just barely a 1000 prominence peak ![]() Date Climbed: Aug 12, 2010 | |
| Got to the northwest face about the same time I could put away my headlamp. Had to get up and down due to time issues, had to be home by 11 a.m. Boring hike until the last 200 feet on the NW ridge. O yes, it was my birthday too. Route map and pics at http://www.willhiteweb.com/uinta_mountains/agassiz/highland_trailhead_195.htm | ||

| boojem | fantastic hike ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 18, 1997 | |
| Climbed a number of years ago by cutting of the trail near Scudder Lake. I enjoyed going cross country through the forest and meadows almost as much as summiting the peak. I would love to go back soon and do the trip over to Hayden Peak at the same time. | ||

| apachedino | Fun Notches ![]() Date Climbed: Aug 2, 2008 | |
| The approach from Hayden Pass is by far prefered, the two "notches" encountered provide both interesting solid scrambling and a perfect framing for the lakes below with Spread Eagle in the background. After ascending we descended to the saddle to the west and then down to the forest to hook up with the highline trail without much difficulty, a great climb with good weather. | ||

| seanpeckham | Up West Ridge, down gully to Naturalist Basin ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 31, 2006 | |
| Turned off the Highline trail and hiked directly up the ridge. On the way down, turned off the ridge and descended a gully to Naturalist Basin, stopped by Blue Lake, and came around back out the Highline trail. Went with the people who three days prior had become my parents-in-law. Nice peak; it is actually my first 12,000-er (the first of hopefully many higher ones to come, but most of my experience is in the Wasatch). A month previous, I had gotten engaged in the basin on the other side, amidst great views of snow filling the gullies between the cliffs that form its eastern (as far as I remember) flanks. | ||

| Jeremy Franchow | Route climbed: West Face Direct ![]() Date Climbed: Aug 17, 2006 | |
| Did what I felt like was some labored bushwacking to get to Shale Lake from the Highline. From the summit, continued along ridge towards Hayden for a 2-fer. In my opinion, grandwazoo's Hayden Pass approach to the summit is the most interesting, fun, and scenic route. Unlike many Uinta scrambles, this route has far less teetering boulders and you encounter at least 3 big walls with some precipitous drops along the way. | ||

| mtn runr | Ahhhh. Gazee. ![]() | |
| I have been up this peak from Christmas Meadows several times, but in August, 2004, I did a loop run from the Highline TH, going to Naturalist Basin, ascending the ridge to Spread Eagle and then running down the ridge to Agassiz. From Agassiz I descended NW and reconnected with the Highlind Trail somewhere near Scudder Lake. I tried to repeat August 2006 but was chased off the ridge by hail and lightning. | ||

| pbogen | awesome but steep! ![]() | |
| This hike was a lot more difficult than anticipated. With only ~ 2,200' of elevation I thought it would be a walk in the park. But don't let it fool you, this is one steep hike that I found very challenging. But it is also a very awesome mountain to summit. Go early to avoid storms, you're above tree line for a long time. | ||

| Near 0 degree temps along the ridgeline, had the place to myself. Found the ridgeline to be very interesting with the addition of the down climbing section. | ||
