| I was trying to find the Feather Lakes and guessed wrong and wound up on Mount Alpen, which is not named on my maps. I was calling it "Southern Rat", but the views are magnificent. The snow climb was fun and offered great views. | |

| Long day started at Redfish Lodge before sunrise- 22 miles and 4800 feet later I was well spent but happy with a gorgeous day in my favorite mountains. | |
