Fourth time on the top  Sucess!

Took some 'off trail' routes on the bottom half to avoid folks doing the Ragnar Race - had no idea it was going on when I drove up for the morning hike.

Trail from West Village Lodge  Sucess!

Morning trip from Sunriver. Easy trail up but very cold and windy on top, probably 20F. No visibility so I missed out on the views. 1:40 to the summit.

2 hours up from West Village at 6,300 ft to 9,065 ft. Hiked adjacent to ski lift, then up on a rubble ridge to the top next to wiring for the ski lift. Easy, class 2, some class 3 right at the end. 90 minutes hike back down.

From the Sunrise Lodge yellow gate  Sucess!

'Twas very warm with zero cloud cover. w/ Yadahzoemtn. Very easy to see the worn trail leading up to and across the ski parking area. Nice forest for the initial portion, then trail scree and rocks. A dozen others on the summit with us. The up took 2+09 and we weren't hurrying. Lots of smoke restricting the otherwise beautiful views.

Hood-Bachelor Double in a Day  Sucess!

Really neat rock. After climbing Mt Hood, had to drive to closest Peak, which was a couple hours away. In the Sierras you can just traverse the Crest a bit to the next peak, but in the Cascades, you've got to drive to the next peak. Whats up with that?

Neat rock, all lava, light, great traction. Made for an easy ascent. Windy on top. No one else out.

Ski ascent  Sucess!

Summit lift was closed, but who cares if you have skins. After skiing here many times, finally went all the way to the summit, but it was a little windy.

Mashed Potatoes   Sucess!

This was my first climb of a volcano. Warm weather and a late start caused snow conditions to be very soft, postholing up to my calves with every step. Views from the top were beautiful as we could see north all the way to Mt. Adams.

Snowshoe to the top  Sucess!

Sunrise Lodge was closed so I parked nearby and snowshoed straight up under the Sunrise Lift. At the top of the Lift (where you can see Summit Lift just to your right), a ski patroller directed me to the "climbers trail" to the left which heads above the Rainbow Lift, switchbacks a couple of times, and then heads uphill pretty much under Summit Lift. Mt Bachelor is usually closed to uphill traffic when the ski resort is open, but with this blessing, I finished snowshoeing up. 2 hrs 45 mins to the tip top. I snowshoed back down and didn't keep track of time (less than 1.5 hrs?). Great views, great day, great workout.
