Mount Baldy Notch (7,840') as seen from the fire road up to the Devil's Backbone trail. You can get to the Notch via a fire road from Manker's Flat, with the help of a ski lift (run all year; in the summer on weekends and holidays), or by a direct route just under the lifts. June 8, 2008

Devil's Backbone,

Devil's golf ball, Devil's
cornfield, Hell's Kitchen, Devil's
Lake, etc.

Must have been a lot of devils
out there when they gave these
places names in the 1800s!
