My First Summit!  Sucess!

It was a fairly kick hike that was fun and strenuous. If you're in decent shape is certainly no problem. In addition when you reach the summit there are a lot of plaques and even a small tower to go inside to increase the already incredible view. It's rich in history so it was stimulating for the mind as well as the body. You also get to interact with a lot f people because the park is heavily trafficked and it's actually an auto road as well. People actually paid to drive up to the view it's so neat.

Super foggy  Sucess!

You can tell there'd be great views if not for the low hanging fog. We could at least see down to part of Camden.

From the road end  Sucess!

After hiking Mt Megunticook, my son and I added this one for its striking view of Camden Harbor as scene from the parapet.

Route Climbed: trail Date Climbed: many times  Sucess!

Being a Camdenite, I've done this fun hike maybe 30 times. It's beautiful forest, and a great entry point to Camden Hills State Park.

Route Climbed: Auto Road Date Climbed: August 4, 2004  Sucess!

I managed to squeeze this one in by driving up route 1 from Portland. There was good traffic flow until Rockland and Camden where it started to crawl. We paid $3 each to drive up the aurto road which is stops beneath the summit block. There is a stone tower and plenty of slabs for an outlook. I left here at 4:30 and arrived at Old Town at 6:00 just before store closing where I picked up a motor and battery needed for a night crossing of South Twin Lake.
