The date is a guess - it was sometime before I graduated. Linked Oxford and Belford.

Did this one with Dirk Summers during my 1st week in Colorado since moving out. Decided that climbing was more immediately important than finding a place to live since I could crash at his place until I found a homestead. Done via Missouri gulch, with some sweet switchbacks right out of the trailhead, and then some nice creeks, an old log cabin, and finally beautiful alpine meadows with views of the snow of N faces of Missouri and Belford. Fairly quick climb for us, and enjoyed a couple 14er ESB beers on the summit to commemorate my 1st and 2nd CO 14ers. Also some beer waiting for us in the creek at dusk upon our return to the trail head. Another great day w/stunningly beautiful & cooperative weather for October in Colorado.

Climbed with Rkymtn, second time up this one. Trail conditions were good, not too much snow. Good boots and gaitors are all that you need, but you may want yaktrax or something to deal with the hardpacked snow. It was a bit too cold and windy to desire to head over to Oxford, so we headed back.

Climbed with chicagotransplant. It was clear, but blustery. The desire to hit Oxford was there, but the timing and conditions weren't. I hope to get back for both Oxford and Missouri.

Another one with Eric. Did from Missouri Gulch. Despite pretty intense elevation gain, a straightforward climb overall, & since we'd done another 14er the day before, that made things easier yet. Vegetative night the long night before & resulting sleep-in, however, meant we wanted something that wasn't too commiting- a great choice! Snow on Belford & Missouri's N face made for a really nice mood. Stopped by "Pecks Peak" on the N ridge on the way down. We found the grave of an infant that had died in the late 1800s from pneumonia on the way down, which was sad. Beer waiting in the creek was a great way to end the day!

Climbed the standard route. Colours are pretty much at peak in Clear Creek/Missouri gulch. Nice climb, but the predictable crowd dissuaged us from following the pack over to Oxford. It'll probably be another two years before I contemplate another 14er.

First hike in a while. Smoker's lung (stupid habit fostered by grief this summer) and lack of acclimatization led to a tougher effort than expected. Still, up and back in 7 hours, summiting by 10:30 a.m. Weather kept me from Oxford.

Great trail and steps, thanks to CFI. Yes, the switchbacks are (as Roach says)"memorable" and "relentless!" I liked the nice, solid rock formation at the summit - first I've seen in eight 14ers. Descent through Elkhead Pass - GREAT VIEW from the saddle, and much gentler slope was kind to my knees!
