| Very overcast with tons of snow clouds. Got to the summit with just a second of a view and it was cold. Got a third of the way down and headed into 50mph winds with snow/hail. Nice weather. It was great. I wish the weather would always be like that. | ||

| Started at Guanella Pass, waded though the famous Scott Gomer willows before the boardwalk was put in, summited Bierstadt and then did the Sawtooth to get to Evans. Headed back to the trailhead without going back over the Sawtooth. Got to the car just as the skies let loose with buckets of rain. | ||

| Left Evans, went across the sawtooth and up the rocks on the South side. I had a fun time going up the rocks and it made it much more enjoyable than going up a well worn route. Came back the same way: down the rocks, across the sawtooth, and up spalding to get back down to the parking lot. No clouds all day and couldn't have been more fun. | ||

| My wife and I climbed this the summer of 1999. It was my second 14er and her first. They were just starting to put in the walkways among the willow swamp. Needless to say, we got our feet wet because the planks weren't up yet. | ||

| It was a nice day, still a lot of snow on the route so I used crampons to hurry my way up so I could get moving on the traverse. | ||

| Training hike in beautiful environment. Went in afternoon and saw only 2 others coming down through willows. Otherwise quiet and calm alone. Quickly up and down. Tried to run all the way up, but still not ready for that. | ||

| A little more than two hours to the top from Guanella Pass, then across the Sawtooth Ridge and up to Evans. The Sawtooth was really great. Going up over the middle tooth was lots of fun. Heading up to Evans from there was kind of boring though. | ||

| Climbed with Haliku - a quick ascent to gain the Sawtooth to Evans. It was a beautiful day with excellent weather. ---- 7/4/11 - Climbed with my wife via the Western Slopes. We reached the summit on a gorgeous day (one of the best I can recall) in less than 2 hrs. Ran into Governor Hickenlooper and, we think, Senator Bennet on our way down. | ||

| Climbed with rkymtn as part of our goal to do the Sawtooth ridge. The bivy at the TH sure beat driving up from Denver at 3 am. An easy climb and a beautiful sunrise. My 3rd and hopefully last time on this 14er. ___ 8-18-05 Climbed it with Old Guide as our annual 14er climb. Varied weather. ___ 2-21-04 The weather alternated between cloudy and being in the clouds. Winds were moderate and just enough to fill in the tracks making the way down more interesting. Very crowded as the parking lot was full and vehicles were parked along the road. | ||

| This is not the first time I climbed Mt. Bierstadt but it's the first time I did it with the intention to take Mt. Evans via the Sawtooth Ridge with my team. We were successful! :D When we got to Mt. Evans, had offers from tourists to take us back to our parking as a storm approached but we didn't care to. Instead, we went back the same way and got hit by rain and hail. I slipped 40 feet down a path but managed to find an unused trail. My friends knew I was "ok" when they heard my coded whistle (always carry a whistle with you). We made it back to the car with bit of hypothermia and discovered that I had a flat in the rear passenger tire. Hahaha!! What a SUPER Great Day! The next weekend we found ourselves exploring the Maroon Bells. | ||

| My first successful spring snow climb - but along with it came a learning experience. Chose not to take the snowshoes, had a great ascent but by the afternoon the snow became soft and post holed (I think I used that term right) for about 1 1/2 hours with the car in sight. Drove home in my underwear with the heat blasting because my pants were soaked. | ||

| I grew up in Evergreen and have climbed Bierstadt 15+ times including in the winter, solo, night time, across the "Sawtooth", from the west, as an altitude "speed" training for Nepal, etc. My favorite was with my younger brother on the 26th of December (2001 or 2002?) when we summitted at 2300 hrs (11PM). Wanted to add this to my summit logs. Although it's a "trainer", go prepared- I've been on the "Tooth" when lightning was hitting Bierstadt and am lucky not to be a ghost. Having been trained by an Alpine Rescue Team trainer, I can vouch that it's still a deadly peak. Watch the weather, and enjoy those west slopes in the summer- the wildflowers and alpine views are awesome! | ||
