I thought Washington State didn't have alpine forget-me-nots, but I saw them on Bigelow.

Day climb
This was really the last nice day of the year. Dark clouds were building on the west side of the cascades and the winds were picking up. 8 months of rain on the way! Made the quick ascent from Upper Eagle Lake and did a 6.5 hour round trip day from the TH.

Rocky Traverse
With Flanders. Camped the night before at Boiling Lake. Loud, crashing thunderstorm overnight (made more fun by being in a hammock tent). Hiked up to the Pass in the morning and then scrambled north to the ridge. Had to descend several hundred feet off the ridge to traverse north to the summit. Some ups and downs along the way depending on rock outcroppings but got to the summit in a sunbreak and enjoyed the views of the cliffs all around this peak. Then did a nice scree descent to the meadow on the west side and found our way back to camp. Hiked out the next day and ran into a mother bear and two cubs between Horsethief and North Navarre. Then thunder as we went over the Pass between the Navarres kept us very much alert until we were back at the car.

Bigelow, Cheops, Martin, Switchback
Hiked in during with Fletcher the evening to middle Eagle Lake and bivied. The next day we traversed from Bigelow to Switchback and then went down to swim in Cooney Lake. We bivied again and hiked out the next morning.

Combined with Martin and Switchback for a nice 2 day jaunt. Didn't see a soul.
