Route from Clyde Meadows is direct. Good class 3 scrambling on good rock can be had in the last 400 feet if you traverse high to Carillon's summit.

Holy crap! I read somewhere there is less scree in Rockwell....sheeeeeit! Enjoyed the western ridge of Carillon, pulling as much 3rd and 4th class as I could.

After our attempt in the east ridge of Russell we did Carillon on the way back to camp. Josh belayed me up out of the top of the gully above Upper Boyscout Lake and on the descent we rapelled that section. The next day we climbed Whitney.

Did the Carillon-Russell-Whitney-Muir traverse in a long day with SuperDave. Carillon was the first peak and we went up from the Cleaver-Carillon col.

Climbed the broad snow couloir from the lake to the plateau. Was glad left my skis at the lake - the upper part was beyond my skiing ability.
