Went over the Russell-Carillon Col, climbing Carrillon and spending the night at Tulainyo for eary start and out on Russell's East Ridge. Tulainyo trips me out! What a lake.

2007 Sierra Challenge bonus peak on the way to Russell. It was very windy but unfortunately the eponymous bell-tower music failed to materialize. x2 April 23, 2011 as a snow climb in a mild snowstorm.

Why not? If you are there for Russell you should stop by for a really good view of the East Ridge

From Cleaver ColNice sidetrip during a hike up Russell. Definitely recommend an approach from Cleaver Col rather than Russell/Carillon saddle.
