Mount Carynska Meadow (Polonina Carynska - 1297 m)
Carynska Meadow is the third highest mountain massive in the Bieszczady Mountains. Its name comes from the characteristic alpine meadows ( in Polish: poloniny) which cover the massive's 7 km long ridgeline.
The massive has four highpoints ( from east to west: 1148m, 1234m, 1297m and 1245m). The highest of them is called Kruhly Wierch. The shortest route (green trail) to Kruhly Wierch climbs the steep south face of the massive. The hike to this summit can be compared to climbing stairs to the top of a 200 storey building and it takes about 2 hours.
Carynska Meadow is known for its primeval and wild feel and great views in all directions. Tarnica, the highest peak of the Bieszczady Mountains can also be seen from there.
Carynska Meadow lies within Bieszczady National Park. The forests on its slopes are home to brown bears, wild cats, wolves and deer .
Enjoy the album!
