Fourth  Sucess!

Ran up Clay on our way from Jefferson to Washington. Great view of Washington and views of where we came from earlier that morning. Windy, but sunny. Lovely day.

Presi Traverse

We all wondered why this did not count as a 4,000 footer - the effort we put in to climb it made us want SOME recognition for it.

Gulfside  Sucess!

120 miles of visibility...only the second day this year! In talking to locals they said that many of them had been up in the area multiple times and NEVER had a day like that. From Washington down to Clay on to Jefferson and the rest of the northern Presidentials with a stopover at the Madison Hut.

Route Climbed: Wait Until Dark Gully Date Climbed: April 2005  Sucess!

We climbed the fissure in the east face of Mt. Clay from the Great Gulf that is called Wair Until Dark Gully. It's a nice climb and the weather was absolutely stunning. We came from pinkham via damnation gully and the great gulf headwall and returned via wait until dark, Mt. Washington Summit and right gully in tuckermans after climbing the tuckerman headwall. A great day in the mountains.

Met a number of people "climbing" this peak by walking down from Washington after taking the railroad up.

Dramatic views into the Great Gulf and up to Washington.

Neat summit because we were able to see Washington the whole way down since we couldn't see it the whole way up. Beautiful views where we could see them. Nice view into Great Gulf.
