Duck, Duck, huh?  Sucess!

Jim, James and I had a long productive day by climbing Corcoran from LeConte then back to summit LeConte. Worse part of the day was going down from the plateau. Hate loose scree! Fun scramble and nothing too difficult. Left lots of new cairns for the next climbers.

Traverse from Leconte  Sucess!

I would by lying if I said I enjoyed the traverse from Leconte. We managed not to get lost by following nicely placed cairns along the way, but one still has to drop and regain a good bit of elevation going both ways.

North Chute  Sucess!

Should have tagged Corcoran when I climbed LeConte last year. From Tuttle Creek this climb would be better when the seemingly endless moraine fields are covered with snow. On a positive note there wasn't any smoke.

From Leconte  Sucess!

Great traverse and beginning to a full day covering Leconte, Corcoran, Mallory, McAdie, and Irvine.

From Tuttle Creek  Sucess!

Perfect weather. Started 0430 from Tuttle Creek trailhead. Summited 1610 and made it back to car 2300 (18.5hours!). Nothing complicated with route but would best be done with a tent. Keep hard left 30m before you come to North Notch and scramble up left-most gully (ends with a bit of a squeeze) to avoid an unecessary pitch from North Notch. That was a magical days work. Brian Corcoran.

Dos  Sucess!

Traversed from LeConte. Took longer than we expected, but a nice summit. Made much better time on the traverse back.

From Le Conte  Sucess!

I managed to take different wrong ways both coming and going, so things took much longer than they should have. As I wrote in the register, "nothing that can't be fixed with a bit of cussing and sketchy downclimbing."

North Notch from Tuttle  Sucess!

This is a very nice climb to take an enthusiastic beginner on. Tuttle Creek has a better trail than you would think, the camping at the waterfalls around 11,000 ft. is marvelous, the scrambling to the basin above the waterfalls is fun, the notch itself is very easy snow, and the final chute on the west side is surprisingly easy (cl. 2).

Fun Peak. Some ugly bushwhacking on the hike in.

Summited from Meysan  Sucess!

Pretty fun - a good day hike and not to technical. A little loose but I have seen worse.

Route Climbed: Traverse from LeConte Date Climbed: 20 Aug 05  Sucess!

Outstanding climb but much tougher than expected. Left Meysan Lake at 0700 -- summited at 1330 (after 30 minute stop on LeConte).

Route Climbed: Traverse from Mt. LeConte Date Climbed: July 22, 2005  Sucess!

LeConte-Corcoran dayhike out of the Meysan trailhead; clouds built early, but never developed into anything more serious. Returned via Iridescent Lake/Arc Pass; the chute to the lake is disagreeably loose and not much fun.

Route Climbed: LeConte-Corcoran Traverse Date Climbed: 22May 2004  Sucess!

Ascent of Corcoran via the Traverse. Good route.

Be sure to look at Secor errata & corrections on climber.org for corrected beta on the traverse, otherwise you may end up doing a lot of extra work

Route Climbed: Traverse from LeConte Date Climbed: May 15th, 2004  Sucess!

Fun snow/ice/rock scramble! Although the rock and soil in the chutes was very slippery, there was enough snow cover to avoid most of it. The highlight of the route was the steep snow sliver that Joel and I climbed to get underneath the chockstone!
