| Another quick storm up the rocks of the east face. Beautiful day. Met another hiker at the top of the rock face who seemed willing to give this route a try--a first. | ||

| Dashed up the trail after coming back from Muscoco Mtn., as the clouds were dissipating and the snow was ending. The trail was already melting off in places facing south or west, but the lower trail, facing north, was still covered with new snow. Met one other hiker going up as I west down. | ||

| Amazingly sunny, warm January day. Luckily we wore our Yak Trax because a good part of the trail is north-facing and in the canyon and slicker than snot. Sadly, hiking this trail is a lesson in lack of human consideration for one another. Despite a large sign instructing humans to leash their dogs, off leash dogs were running rampant, making for difficult going for us and our leashed canines. The dog crap on the sides of this narrow trail was so thick it was like walking an open sewer. The worst was yet to come. At the top of the mountian, numerous trees had been cut by vandals to make some type of bonfire. These selfish swine apparently do not understand the issue with trying to light a fire with green wood. The damage brought tears of rage to my eyes. Back to the positives: The sun burned warm, the sky was blue, the wind wispered through the pine boughs...and the iced-over Seven Falls was breathtaking. | ||

| This was my first time going up Mt.Cutler. I parked at the trailhead and took the regular route. It was a beautiful sunny morning with great views of the city and the mountains to the west. I was the only one at the parking lot when I arrived but by the time I came back there were 8 cars ! Also it looked like one of the local schools was working on fixing the trail, there was a lot of teenagers cleaning up along the way. | ||

| cftbq | Up the trail in the rain ![]() Date Climbed: Oct 8, 2006 | |
| Even though it was Sunday, I figured the persistent rain would reduce the number of people on the trail and on the road. It did. So I ran up the trail (something I actually haven't done for a while) and down from home for my Sunday workout. I actually saw two other couples on the trail, and one solo hiker. | ||

| PapaBanucci | Fun Family Climb on Mt. Cutler Trail ![]() Date Climbed: Aug 12, 2006 | |
| Climbed with the kids 11, 7, and 5. Ninety minutes roundtrip including stopping for lunch and snack. Perfect for a Cub Scout den hike. Perfect for kids of any age - if they're too old to be carried in a carrier, they should be able to walk it. Perfect for out-of-town business travelers wanting to get out and experience Colorado some. Less than 20 minutes from downtown. Great Colorado Springs weekend vacation side trip. Very minimal fitness requirement. Anyhow, kids had fun. | ||

| Short and sweet! It only took me 2 hours to drive to the trailhead, climb to the spur, spend 30 minutes or so on the top, walk down and drive home. Awesome views of Rosa, Stove, Cheyenne, Seven Falls, the shrine, the Broadmoor, CS, GOG, etc... Just about anyone could climb this! | ||
