| My wife and I were driving all 63 miles of the Rampart Range Road and hiking a few points along the way. This was the final hike to a highpoint in the area. The weather was mild and there was no one afoot in the area, but plenty of motorbikes on the main roads and bike trails. | |

| We needed a short but pleasant high-point close to home for a hike this day, and Mount Deception fit the bill. We enjoyed a cool, sunny day with great views of Pikes & Almagre, and not another soul in sight near the mountain. What's not to like? Hiking partner: Husband. Dogs: Lady, Bing & Lela. | |
