Three before noon tea  Sucess!

Nice easy 14er. Lots of good friendly people on the trail. Hooked up Cameron and Lincoln and skied the scree down, missed the trail I think. Great hike/run!!!!

summer and winter  Sucess!

1/20/07- climbed the east ridge w/nellis for #10/100 in winter. surprising tougher route than we expected with the avalanche terrain beneath the saddle with cameron. the upper ridge was very icy, and rougher going than we previously thought it'd be.

9/10/05- scrambled the north ridge with tommy. fun, off the beaten path route. didn't feel like your stereo typical democrat climb.

First 14er  Sucess!

First Fourteener in CO, was a killer for me since I was in terrible shape, the weather got a little hinky when we got up but made it down before the storm broke.

First of four  Sucess!

DeCaLiBron, standard circle route. Bluebird day. Six hours and fifteen minutes from Kite Lake but my lack of climbing this summer meant I was pretty gassed by the time I hit the summit of Cameron.

First 14er  Sucess!

Started up the mountain at around 6:30am with a group of 3 other friends and there were tons of people climbing that day. It made me feel better since it was my first 14er to climb. I though if something bad happens like a twisted ankle there are enough people here to help assist any get down the mountain safely. But you did have to take extra time to work around everybody since there were big groups and a ton of dogs who were struggling to get up some icy parts on the lower trail which ended up with a few groups waiting in the middle of the thin trail. The climb up to the saddle was harder and longer than I had first anticipated but was enjoyable and challenging, at least for myself I had never been above 10,000ft before.
Once we reached the saddle it was easier to set your own pace to climb up to the false summit. The small group I was with started to split up. There was myself and a friend who were climbing faster and the other two guys were fine taking more time to hike up. Once we got to a certain point my climbing partner and myself decided to follow some people who broke off of the main group and ventured to the left trail since we were all bunching up. After a little while I noticed that we were going through a lot of snow and after a bit we had lost the trail. So from this point I just started going straight up using both hands and feet to reach the false summit. It was quite the experience and was like no other hike/climb I have done before. Once we were at the false summit it is a short walk to the top! Most definitely won't be going back anytime soon I'd rather try other 14ers but I can say that I am happy to call this mountain my first 14er.

Crowded!  Sucess!

The parking area was full and the cars were parked a mile from the TH. Luckily, Margaret and I got there after noon so people were leaving and parking wasn't an issue. The short end of the stick was unstable weather that prompted a descent after summiting. Mt Lincoln will have to wait.

Lake Emma Chutes  Sucess!

Skinned up standard route from Paris Mill, mostly continuous snow on the road. Some hard pack snow on the upper slopes had me put the skis on my back near the top of the false summit. Skied down the south face and through the Lake Emma Chutes and back to the car. Dropped in around 10.15, but was it was still a little firm, could have waited a little longer to let the sun warm things up. The Lake Emma Chutes don't see sun until after 8am this time of year.

Not a registered Democrat but found no reason not to visit and read the campaign literature on top. One down (up?) and three to go for the day. Gosh, does it get any better than this?
