| A nice peak. The rock just below the summit was a great spot to rest for a bit, and soak in the views. | ||

| I climbed this as part of a weekend backpacking hike with the ADK.On the same ascent we also did Seward and Emmons and the previous day we climbed Seymore.During this particular morning the summit was socked in with clouds. The trail was very nice with a plush green carpet of mosses. The wilderness here is wonderful. This is some of the best NY has hidden within......Jw | ||

| Hiked in via Calkins Brook on a -21 degree morning! Brrrrr! Beautiful day once the sun came up. Great views of Seward. Headed to Emmons, then over to Seward from there. 38/46 | ||

| Spindle | Route climbed: from Seward Date Climbed: Oct 11, 2008 | |
| Over from Seward the same day. The weather was amazing, as was the depth of the mud in the wet areas. Not much of a view from the summit but a fun hike anyway. | ||

| Easily the best views of the three. Calkins Brook HP in good shape. Walk along ridge - terrible. Mud everywhere. Pleasant day to be in the mountains though. | ||

| Possibly the best view of the bunch comes from this guy, Donaldson. Crazy dragon-fly activity on the summit. Those things sound like g-damn choppers when they whiz by. | ||

| climber46 | Route Climbed: herd path on the ridge Date Climbed: Aug 19, 2001 ![]() | |
| Hiked from the Coreys Rd trailhead to Seward, Donaldson, and Emmons as a day hike. The herd path on the upper half and ridge was awful. I never want to come here again. This hike tied with my hike of Redfield and Cliff as the worst herd paths I have ever seen. | ||

| hillman | Route Climbed: calkins brook drainage Date Climbed: 3-13-04 ![]() | |
| Used skis to get in there from coreys road, then snowshoes for the climb. Lots of fresh snow with some interestingly steep sections. Incredible views when the sun came out. Failed to reach emmons, because we couldn't find the herd path, and it was thick in the trees. | ||
