Hiked Bierstadt first and got a little sick on the way up, once that went away the day was great. I brought my dog along and he did great, but my brothers dog ripped up her paws. Longer hike then expected, but fun.

Traversing the Sawtooth was fun and non-technical. Caught in a horrible lightning and snow storm on the way down from Evans--being stupid, we should've been off the summit ridge by then.

Did Bierstadt before sunrise, then traversed the really intense Sawtooth before making our way up the Mt. Evans ridge to the summit. Many tourists (probably from Texas) were up there wondering why we were wearing so much gear.

Great climb with Charles and Amy Danforth. An easy one after some intense experiences in the mountains of late. Some nice August snow. Coffe and Ritter Sport on top.

8/11/05: Drove to the parking lot at the top of Evans, walked to the summit, dropped down the west ridge, crossed the Sawtooth to the summit of Bierstadt, then recrossed the Sawtooth and retraced my steps back to my car. Nice, easy, quick, enjoyable outing.

7/08: Returned to bag Evans, Spalding and Gray Wolf.

10/3/10: Climbed the SNAVE with Bryan and Brian. We then traversed over to Mt. Spalding. I then went solo to Mount Warren, Rogers Peak and Goliath Mountain.

Sawtooth was easier than I thought it would be. The ledges were fun.

SeanReedyRoute Climbed: The easiest peak trail I've done. Date Climbed: June 2003

Growing up in Redding, California, I surely thought Mt. Shasta or Mt. Whitney would be my first 14er, and never thought my wife would experience that altitude without being in a plane. Now we both can say, "I've been over 14,000 feet on foot and even brought along a friend with her 6 year old daughter." Really, I doubt I'll be using a line like that much until my own daughter is old enough to do Shasta, Whitney, or White Mtn. Peak with me. The cyclists who rode all the way up made me jealous, while my wife swore they were insane. Someday when I'm not with my wife and her friend, I'll do a 14'er in a way that involves more than a 100 foot walk up, but this will have to do for now.

It is a great site and you can see so many other mountains and ranges from the top. It is one of the best mountains to climb up.

This was a really fun after work climb. I started at 7:00 and got back to my car at Summit Lake at 10:00. I followed Mount Evans Loop exactly except that I descended the road because it was quite dark and I accidentally left my headlamp in the car. With a headlamp, I could have descended Evans' ridge directly back to the lake, so keep in mind that this climb can be made more quickly than in 3 hours! Highly recommended for a post-work climb!

Biked up Mt Evans road from Idaho Springs. 28 miles uphill. 7000' elevation gain. Beautiful ride. Hiked the last 140' to truly bag the peak.

This was a great climb except for the bushwacking we had to do on the way down. I had a cold so the going was slow (Dude, that DID hurt!)

Did the circut clockwise, Mount Evans via "Northeast Face" and then over to Mount Spalding via "Summit Ridge" and back to Echo Lake. Note: CFI (Colorado Fourtneers Initiative) is actively working on the Chicago Lakes to Summit Lake section of the trail.

Climbed the route with Dudethatmusthurt, the route was a little bit harder then the class 4 rating that Roach writes about. There were no clouds in the sky and not much snow in the final strech, so I didnt need the crampons I forgot. Overall a great day and a great climb.

myroneRoute Climbed: From Guanella Pass Date Climbed: Friday June 24,2005  Sucess!

myrone

Started up at 6:51AM, broke left off the Bierstadt trail shortly after crossing the creek, lots of willow bashing and very wet as I worked my way around the hill and over to the gully. Straight up the gully, still quite wet and somewhat loose scree. I managed to lose the trail as I headed for the wrong (false) summit by going too high. I then went lower to the right of the ridge and followed the cairns to the real summit at 10:22. Stayed about 30 mins as the clouds were starting to build, back down to the car by 1:26PM, saw only one person all day long. My 12th 14'er. Sweet!!
