via Crystal couloir  Sucess!

A repeat climb, this time via the Crystal couloir, which was surprisingly firm on a warm day. Started from Echo Lake so that Jim could get his 3K vertical and followed the road to Summit Lake, cutting a couple switchbacks. Added West Evans, Warren, Rogers, and Goliath on the way down. Fine glissade down the north face!

Northeast Face from Summit Lake  Sucess!

Scrambled up the steep slopes above Summit Lake. Have hiked the road (when closed by weather) several times. My daughter's first 14-er. (I carried her in a back pack!)

winter finale  Sucess!

6/11/17- north face with john, a great quality sans the effort to get there hike. left couloir variation finish

3/15/08- capped off a winter of 11 top-100 summits with a hike up evans. didn't have much energy left by the time we reached the summit, but slogged through nonetheless.

a light snow was falling on the hike out, kind of a fitting tribute to winter as we marched off into the distance.

Chicago Trail head  Sucess!

Did the Chicago trail head route. Very pretty coming up from the back side, and nice in the fact that once we got past the obnoxiously placed reservoir there were few people there. Also some fun scrambling to gain the upper lake, with boot deep snow.

Evans via Bierstadt and the Sawtooth Ridge  Sucess!

Started at Guanella Pass, waded though the famous Scott Gomer willows before the boardwalk was put in, summited Bierstadt and then did the Sawtooth to get to Evans. Headed back to the trailhead without going back over the Sawtooth. Got to the car just as the skies let loose with buckets of rain.

Long Day  Sucess!

Started at summit lake parking lot, went up Evans, across the sawtooth, up Bierstadt, back across the sawtooth and finally up Spalding to get get back to the parking lot.
The top of Evans was nice but windy. We got to the summit by 7:30am so we had the summit all to ourselves until we left about 30 minutes later.
