weather was questionable for the second high point of the day... but decided to try anyway. Glad I did. The weather turned sunny for my hour plus up and back. Great hike, but rocks were a little slippery as it had just rained. The down climb was a challenge, but successful nonetheless for high point #27.

2nd on the day after NJ. It was really nice to get out and hike in the 30 degree temps with a bit of spit coming down. Felt great. Quite a fun hike, too. Some steep rocky sections, great foliage, and about as good of views as you can get at that el..
took mt frissell trail... tons of red markings, so you can't possibly get lost.

Came in from where Mt. Washington Road intersects the MA/CT state line coming up and over Round Mountain and Mt. Frissell. This route/trail is well-marked.

High Point #12 - Fall Hike - Good Strenuous HIke
I would recommend staying at the AMC cabin as you will have great primitive accomodatios only 1.5 miles from the summit and about 1.8 to the shoulder. I'm proud of my 85lb pooch to climb this mountain as some of it requires some good scramble. It's a short summit, but it is a great view in the fall.

Second high point of the day (after NJ in the morning)! The trail up Frissell was short, but steeper than I'd expected. All the way up the scrambly-bits, I cursed my decision to forego a pack and carry my water bottle by hand. The weather was beautiful up top, though. I saw a handful of folks along the way, most of whom seemed to be highpointers.

Fun hike me and my son arrived at the parking lot at about 10:30 the trail was an A+ a bit of a scramble at points and just keep hiking you will find the high point eventually nice valley views from hear made it back to the car by 2:30 we had another great hike

Hiked in a downpour
State HP #15, #5 on my New England high point solo roadtrip. The trail was very fun, even challenging in the downpour.

A Brisk Hike
Short but sweet - great views from the shoulder - a little windy and chilly. Note that there is active logging near the top of Mt. Washington Road before it drops down to the trailhead area on the MA side. Luckily I didn't meet one of the logging trucks as that could have been tricky given that it is a one lane dirt road with few turnoffs. The Mt Washington road was closed at the state line and I ended up parking at the Bear Mt. Hiking Trailhead and then walking about 1/4 mile to the Mt. Frissell trailhead on the left. Well marked w/red blazes everywhere.

Great hike in with the fall leaves! I started about 1 mile south of the MA state like and hiked into NY, then came back to the tri state marker then up Frissell. If you have time I think this is a much better hike than the normal route parking at the state line. I think it made it about 5 miles total.

Wet climb
Up from the New York side and over Brace Mountain. The day was sunny but the previous days rain made the trail more interesting.

Pretty good workout
It was a hot and humid day and of course I tackle Frissell at the hottest possible time, with the sun directly overhead. I was surprised at the steep nature of the trail and exerted myself pretty well in a few parts. Mostly well marked, but I got turned around a few times and lost the red blazes. Still, a rewarding summit with a few nice views nearby. Better than anticipated, reminded me a little of Backbone Mountain in MD.

We did a 26-mile loop with a short car shuttle to get us back to Jug End. Great day to be in the woods.
