| Hiked up via the Bernard Farm trail to the AT to the summit. A little bit of ice near the top, but nothing too serious. Saw the wreckage of a plane wreck along the BF trail, very interesting! http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P2-8079760.html | ||

| sdr106 | Columbus Day Weekend ![]() Date Climbed: Oct 9, 2011 | |
| This trip was a challenge for my level of ability since we had to carry everything we needed 2 miles to the campsite, The next morning we began our hike via Sperry Rd. to the Hopper Trail which then connected to the Appalachian Trail and then to the summit. Weather was great and only a slight haze at the top, Mt. Monadnock was a great presence on the horizon. | ||

| Is it cheating to drive to the highest point of the state? :) I would like to say the view was beautiful, but it was really foggy, which has it's own kind of beauty I guess. | ||

| I climbed this Mountain with a bunch of friends that I went to Iraq with when we all made it home safely. I have since gone back and snow shoed up Thunderbolt, which was very tough!! It is a beautiful area with a restaurant located on top!! | ||

| Iron Hiker | Just a drive up, and a hike down :-p ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 15, 1998 | |
| The only highpoint I've hiked down from. Did this in pouring rain with the summer camp I was with for 2 weeks. We descended the AT from the summit to Money Brook Trail into the Hopper, then took the Hopper Trail back up to the campground. | ||

| Sled Mountaineering! We camped at the base of thunderbolt, climbed up in the morning and sledded down! Sledding not recommended unless you've got em screwed on tight! | ||

| I've done this twice, being from MA. Once in winter with no one on top and a very frigid rain, and once at the start of the Long Trail with great crowds. | ||

| iquest4it | Nice view ![]() Date Climbed: Sep 5, 1994 | |
| As I started to know off high points in the NE, this one surprised me. It didn't have the throngs of people, and the views were really nice as the foliage started to come it. | ||

| highlandvillager | Up the Ski Slope ![]() Date Climbed: Dec 17, 2010 | |
| I had the Thunderbolt Trail all to myself. It was covered in just enough snow to make things slick but not enough to form secure steps. I had to bear crawl up the steep sections, and later descend them very carefully. The early morning sun had not burned the clouds off of the top, so I could not see far, but the summit was a winter wonderland. HP31 | ||
