Fall foliage
Walking through and looking down at vibrant yellow aspens. We went up to the shoulder instead of doing a rising traverse, trying to find a supposed hoodoo thats up there but no luck.
This time I made it an over-nighter with a friend. It was his first time climbing a mountain and he claimed it was the hardest thing he'd ever done besides a marathon. The Coal Creek Route is very beautiful, though very steep. Caught a couple of fish in Gunnison lake for the first time in three climbs this time too! So beautiful.
Route Climbed: South Ridge Date Climbed: first week of Oct 2005
Wanted to climb this mountain for over a year, ever since I made an attempt for West Beckwith's summit in Sept of 04. Gunnison resides in some of Colorado's most beautiful land, no doubt.
