| Great trip in the Sawatch on a Bluebird, clear as hell day! Uncompaghre Peak was visible in the San Juans. Light winds, pleasant temps. Trail was very icy going up, turned slushy on the way down. We were gonna do Columbia as well, but decided we wanted Chinese food in Leadville instead! | ||

| bryangast | Another perfect day. ![]() Date Climbed: Aug 11, 1990 | |
| There was an attack marmot on top of this peak and it stole my day pack! I had to chase it for about 30 feet before it dropped it and ran away. | ||

| shknbke | Winter ascent-Horn Fork ![]() Date Climbed: Jan 2, 2010 | |
| We were likely the first group to summit the 5th highest peak in the lower 48 in the new decade! It was "easier" than expected as the trailbreaking to our camp at treeline wasn't back with a broken track to beyond the Kroenke Lake junction. Got blasted by spindrift and low vis for the last couple hundred vertical to the summit. The scrambling is a bit tricky with snow as there are fewer options. Hung around for Columbia the next day. 5/21/04-First ascent was as a dayhike, and it was an epic! Endless postholing on the way down, ran out of water, was hallucinating near the end. Glad I've gained some experience since then! | ||

| 18th Fourteener!!! We did Harvard on a magnificent, relatively warm, non-monsoonal early August day. Although the hike was a wee bit long, I thought it was easy as far as 14ers go. | ||

| Started early ~3:15am to help ensure safely traversing over to Columbia afterwards. Rained until treeline, but nice afterwards. The trail to Harvard is great- thanks to whoever is responsible for keeping it in such great shape- ?CFI, ?rangers. | ||

| 8/22/04 - Standard route through Horn Fork Basin, a very beautiful place. Also climbed Columbia which made for a very long day. 1/2/10 - Backpacked 7 miles to treeline in Horn Fork Basin and climbed Harvard the following day. Nasty blowing snow and low visibility near summit. | ||
