Mount Hood Crater

Mount Hood Crater
While climbing the south side of Mount Hood, I looked ahead at my intended destination. The "Hogsback" ridge can be seen in the distance, in the background-center of the crater. My goal was to make a snow camp for the evening at 10,000' elevation, which I later accomplished behind the large snowy slope/bump shown in the center of this photo. I was standing at approximately 9500' elevation when I took this photo.

Photo taken on June 6, 2009.
