5/31/21 - Excellent hike up from the saddle parking lot over Bald Knob, to Day Mountain and it's hidden gem of a picnic spot just after he summit, then back to Kit Carson and a great summit area and views. Friendly chipmunks too.
1/22/22 - Snowshoed up from Lower Loop Road lot. Foggy below, sunny up top. Off trail a lot of the way back avoiding crowds, snowmobiles, etc.

Easy summit
Super easy 6.5 mile loop. Windy as can be at the rocky summit but the views are gorgeous.

My daughter, Vistoria and I started at the campground and hiked up to Mt. Kit Carson then over to Day Mountain. The trail between the two was the best part of the hike.

Did both from the turnaround about a mile from the ranger station. Scared off a bear on the way up!!!

Day Mt. Spokane Road to Smith Gap Route
This is one of my favorite climbs in the Spokane area because you don't see very many people, compared to Mount Spokane. Also it's 2ft over one mile above sea-level.
