early climb

I'm fairly sure that this was the first peak climbed in the Sierra Nevada, south of the two peaks at Carson Pass by Fremont in 1843, but essentially nobody knows about it because the documentation is not well known. It was climbed by a surveyor named Alexei Von Schmidt in 1855 as part of his survey of the Mt Diablo Base Line. I have the survey notes documenting this. It's possible he climbed something in the Cathedral Range a few days earlier but it's not clear.
