First time I climbed this peak. Pretty hike, made note of tent platforms for a return visit which I made in Nov of 2004.

A great winter overnight hike. We kept a good eye on the weather and hoped for a bit of snow, but nothing to exciting. This was a GREAT weekend. We hiked up in the early evening (dark in the winter). We got to the tent platforms and had a good nights sleep with about 3 other parties on the platforms. Next day we left gear at the platform and it the summit. We got fantastic views of the just snow covered summit. Some of my best hiking pictures yet. Liberty has yet to disapoint.

Higher than Mt. Flume but not nearly as interesting, still has great views and makes part of a great loop trail...

I did this loop around age 9 or 10 or so with my father-- a cherished childhood memory. I can't see the Flume slides trail being class 3-- how many 9 or 10 year olds can do a class 3 trail? ;)

Route Climbed: Pemi Trail to AT (Liberty Springs Trail) & Franconia Ridge TRail Date Climbed: June 30, 2002  Sucess!

Tough 8 mile trek which included Mts Liberty & Little Haystack (had to end there due to high winds & cold temps). Summit of Liberty was gorgeous that day. Views in all directions were remarkable. Some haze led to limited views of the Presidentials but well worth the effort. Falling Waters trail form Little Haystack is gorgeous to descend. Could've done without the black flies & the annoying bugs though!
