Lenny72Mount Lincoln Climb  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Nov 19, 1995

Did this mountain as part of the Franconia Ridge loop; an 8.9 mile trail over 6 summits, including Lafayette. Cold, icy, very windy, exhausting, but exhilarating with excellent views of the Pemigewasset Wilderness when the weather is clear.

Peak #3 on my 5-day, 4-night traverse from Franconia Notch to Crawford Notch with my brothers. We hit the Franconia Ridge in great weather!

Date Climbed: Jan 16, 2014

My girlfriend and I set off on the Falling Waters trail around 6am, arriving at the summit of Little Haystack around 9:30am. From there we traversed the ridge to the summit of Mount Lincoln. From Lincoln we set off for the summit of Mount Lafayette around 12:15pm. We had zero visibility all day above treeline, making it tough to navigate certain sections and gauge how far we had to go. We finally have top of the line gear, except that my new new-matic BD sabretooth crampons kept popping off my Koflach arctis expe boots. After the 4th time they came off I switched to my hybrid crampons and life was swell. Took the Bridal Veil Falls trail 2.9 miles back to the trailhead, arriving around 3pm. Great day.

Nice hike. First 4000 footer done solo. Did the Haystack, Lincoln, Lafayette loop. Very foggy, but no dangerous weather. Found General Lafayette in a photo I took when I got home, way cool to find by accident in one of my own pics, posted it here on my profile.

I have been on this a few times, but this time we had it all to ourselves. It was 10 pm with 60 mph driving wind and blasting snow. 31 miles in we had only 3 more summits to cross before heading out. We didnt stay long, but Lincoln to me was always one of NH finest summits along with Lafayette

LaronFlume to Garfield traverse  Sucess!

Summit #4 in a traverse from Flume over to Garfield. I remember starting to get a little tired after passing over Lincoln. Reminded me a little of hiking in SE Alaska along ridgelines.

Hiked the classic Little Haystack, Lincoln, Lafayette. The first time was cloudy and rainy. Did it a little under a year later and was graced with a perfect day with almost no crowds.

Did a Pemi Loop over 2.5 days with a couple of friends. Going counter clockwise, camped at Guyot and Garfield tent sites. Saw an awesome lightning over a town to the north storm from Garfield; got hailed on in a lightning storm on the way out on the last day. Had a bottle of Bowmore with us.

Second summit of the day (Liberty was first and Lafayette was third). Great view from the summit which was nice because the weather got fickle by the time I hit Lafayette.

This was another 5000+ peak we reached on our Franconia Ridge loop. We packed my son's backpack with all his gear and did this day hike to see what's working and what's missing of his gear, in preparation for his West Coast Trail hike trip later that month. This was an awesome hike, grand views and good moderate challenge. Would do it again. Here is the loop we did, in reverse order http://www.dartmouth.edu/~doc/hiking/franconiaridge/
