Mt. Lowe Railway

I hiked this region of the front range all the time as a kid. I began in 1954 when much of the detritus from the abandonment still could be seen. I had an extensive collection of both hardware and historical printed matter. I still have some items, but most of my collection is donated to the proposed Mt. Lowe Museum. Anyway, this particular portion of the first "lap" contains these trestles which were called "High Bridge". The concrete foundations were put in place by the Pacific Electric Railway under Henry Huntington. The original foundations were rocks cemented into place.
