Unbeatable Views of the LA Basin
Pretty easy hike from the north up the San Gabriel Peak trail, unbelievable views over the city. Would like to go back up at night and in the winter. Peak 2 of 3 for the day.

From Red box bagged San Gabriel Peak, Mount Disappointment, Mount Markham & this one. A nice loop on Saturday morning. The historical markers are worth a read.

Echo first, then up Castle Canyon, Muir and Inspiration Peaks, then the Lowe loop trail.

Miguel Carmona and I hiked up this hill many a time as a part of our training for bigger mountains. Armed with 50 lbs of water in our packs, we would hike as fast as we could up the hill, empty the water containers on the summit and run down. It was a bit unortodox way to train, but very effective.

From Cobb Estate
A big semi-loop: up to Inspiration Point via Castle Canyon, then up the East trail, down the West trail, and down the Sam Merril trail
From Cobb Estate TH: hit Echo Mtn, Muir Pk, Inspiration Pk, Mt Markham and Mt Lowe. Hiked with Gordon, Coco the Dog, and Sophie the Dog on a very hot April day. Up Castle Canyon/East Lowe trails and down the Mt Lowe railline/West Lowe trails.

Unique Sighting Tube HikeIt would be nice to do this hike again on a cool day....I remember it being quite hot years ago. Too hot for the dainty flower I am..lol
