In fall it was great, but last winter was the best! Getting above treeline is amazing in the presi's when bluebird skies are out!

After I climbed Mt. Adams I took the Gulfside trail to the Madison hut and went up the Osgood. Not hard, but I was tired from climbing Adams. Took Valley Way back down.

After spending the night at Madison Hut, the nasty weather finally lifted and Flanders and I bagged this one in the morning on our third day. Ninth and final peak on a south to north Presidential Traverse. Went down Valley Way and caught the shuttle back to Crawford Notch to the car to head to Maine. Nice morning with blue skies for the most part....finally!

Matt WorsterNH 4K list finish  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Aug 18, 2006

Matt Worster

Started in 1987 on Moosilauke at age 11, and steadily chipped away for 19 years. Up the Webster (Scout) Trail with my little brother, and we had a fine, fine day of it. A Long Trail Ale at the top was a fitting conclusion. Really enjoyed the day, and was glad my brother (an urbanite to the core!) joined me.

Date Climbed: Aug 10, 2006

Overnighted in the Madison Hut and then went up and over Madison in the morning via the Osgood Trail. Great views and a very nice summit, except the weather was a little overcast and pretty windy at the top. Used the Osgood as a descent route, down to the Old Jackson Trail and then across to the car at Pinkham Notch...long descent.
