| huskertriguy | Green Mountains, Swallowed in White ![]() Date Climbed: Jun 9, 2013 | |
| Sunset Ridge up and back. Took 5 hours as I raced a Half-Ironman the day before in Minnesota, then flew in to BDL at 11 p.m. and drove the 4 hours to the trailhead. I definitely took a few spills on rocks that were wet from earlier rains and condensation. There was not much to see from the summit as the fog was thick, and with the wind beating down, I did not stay long. On the way back down Sunset, the clouds began to clear and the views of the beautiful Green Mountains opened up. I saw plenty of people on their way up after noon. SHP #30 | ||

| Ran most of the way to the top via the access road in the Race to the Top of VT. After I finished 59th in 50 min, I jogged up to the true summit about 1 mile further. | ||

| Russell Nash | HP #5 Sunset Ridge Trail ![]() Date Climbed: Apr 6, 2013 | |
| We came in from Underhill State Park and went up the Sunset Ridge trail. The weather was perfect. At the summit we got to watch a few daring skiers ski down from the summit. The descent was extremely fast due to the sun warming up the snow so that we could literally "ski" down the trails in our shoes. It was an awesome experience. | ||

| Started off viewless and uneventful, but proceeded to have fantastic views from the bottom. Snow was super deep and routes were tough to navigate. | ||

| Eighty minute ascent via the Long Trail route from the north. Seventy minute descent. The summit was socked in with fog so no views but there was beautiful rime ice on the plants and not (fortunately) on the trail. I had enough left in my tank to do Marcy the next morning. | ||

| highlandvillager | Great day in Vermont ![]() Date Climbed: Sep 16, 2012 | |
| After breakfast with a view of the mountain, we headed up the Long Trail. With perfectly clear skies, we had spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, as well as Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks, with Whiteface standing out, to the west. We descended the steep Profanity Trail back to the Long Trail. HP41 | ||

| Redwic | Successful, Despite Weather ![]() Date Climbed: Sep 10, 2012 | |
| On what was supposed to be a great weather day, it had rained the entire previous night and the thick fog and cold temperatures lingered well into the morning. I took the toll road to the upper visitor center and then hiked/ran from there. I quickly went over to the Chin en route to the nearby neighboring CoHP ("Adam's Apple"), and then headed back. But then I realized I still needed my summit photos so I headed back to the Chin again. This time, the summit steward ("Graham") was there, shortly after arriving from nearby Taft Lodge. We talked for a few minutes and he helped with my summit photo. This was my 45th State Highpoint. | ||

| Hiked up the west side from UnderHill campground, the name of the trail already escapes me and I just got home!! It's the trail that was 50 percent exposed the entire climb, was a little peaved at the amount of people on the summit but the auto road brings them up in droves. All and all it was a nice 8.6 round trip if you count the mile each way from Underhill. | ||

| cgallaugher | 5th SHP, first for my son ![]() Date Climbed: Aug 3, 2012 | |
| Hiked the Long Trail southbound from rte 108 to the Chin (some rock scrambling/climbing towards the peak) then followed the summit ridge trail to the gondola trail-a very steep trail with a lot of rock scrambling and then took the gondola down to the base and walked half a mile back to the car. Cloudy but dry day! This was my first Vermont hike and I loved the green mountains everywhere!! My son enjoyed the arctic tundra at the summit and the rock climbing. | ||
