| Preface this by saying this was in my college days: Did this whole hike on LSD- It was amazing at times and really tough other times. I was working on the ADK 46ers in college and got a real job in CA so I was taken away from the area with only 28 of the high peaks done. Gothics and Colden were my favorites. Tough to go back after climbing in the west. | ||

| Soloed for highpoint #4; summit completely clouded-in. Only cleared up when I was too far back down. Glad to have returned 3 years later in perfect weather & great views. | ||

| Spur of a moment decision....drove from PA to the Garden...took off for the summit @ 2am in the morning, down by 4pm....back home in PA by midnight. As usual it snowed, i was freezing but thank god for the volunteers maintaining the lodge who helped out with some hot chocolate and a great atmosphere..... | ||

| Did it with my touring skis. Beautiful day with lots of sun and the snow was good. Great skiing on the way down, a little bit dangerous for the people going up though. The summit cone was icy, should have brought my ski crampons. | ||

| this was the wettest climb ever. We couldn't see more than 15 ft. any of the three days we spent on Marcy, except for one weather window which happened at Marcy dam ; which is beatiful. still good to see another part of the country though, even if only alittle of it. | ||

| This is a wonderful hike for the east coast, almost up to west coast standards. We packed into the dam, and camped there, then did the climb the next morning. Full day experience with a stop at Indian falls. The mosquites on the hike to and from the dam were very bad! Read the trip report. | ||

| We stayed overnight at the Opalescent brook shelter and went for Sklight then Marcy in snowy conditions. The weather cleared only after we had begun our descent toward Haystack. The top seemed nice. It seems like every adirondack high peak we have been on has either been snowy or had no visibility except maybe whiteface. Oh well. That's the daks for you. | ||

| Spent two cold days bagging the High Peaks. Hit Algonquain, Coldon and Gray, spent a brutally cold night in a lean-to then hit Skylight, Marcy and Phelps. We were past peak for the foliage thus making this a cold overcast and gloomy adventure. | ||

| Duane Gilliland and I hiked Marcy on a 7-state highpointing swing through the northeast. It was the day after the hurricane remnants passed through the area, so it was very wet and windy, however the weather was fine otherwise. After the hike our rental wouldn't run due to electrical problems. Even with a jump, when turning the ignition switch everything went dead, and we had no power of any kind. We made good use of the pay phones at the Adirondack Loj and the AMC station at the TH, but our replacement vehicle wasn't delivered until after noon the following day, destroying our carefully planned agenda. Much enjoyed my first trip to up-state NY. | ||

| Our group from the Catskills hiked all the way around the base of Mount Marcy in the rain, before tackling the summit in good weather. I was sure homesick as an 11-year-old on my first journey away from home and family. The lakes were eerily quiet (from acid rain). Good view from the top. | ||

| This hike (7.5 miles, 3000 feet in under 4 hours) convinced me that I could climb all 46 Adirondack High Peaks. After reaching Marcy, I climbed nearby Skylight, and Gray. | ||
